Summary: Jack's new look is taking some getting used to. A double drabble.
‘Stop it,’ Jack said, trying to quell any annoyance he was beginning to feel at knowing Ianto’s eyes were fixed on him, even if he wasn’t looking.
‘Stop what?’
Jack turned to face him. ‘Looking at me like I'm seconds away from exploding in a mass of blood and gore. I’m fine,’ he added, making sure he met Ianto’s gaze when he said it.
Ianto cringed at the chastisement. ‘It’s just that… well… you’re very… round.’
Jack rolled his eyes. These twenty-first century earthlings and their never having seen a man pregnant before. Okay, admittedly this was a little unusual as pregnancies went. He wasn’t just sporting a bulge at the front, but rather his whole torso was inflated. It was all the extra gas produced to insulate the offspring, that was all. A little uncomfortable perhaps, but nothing that a little flatulent outburst could relieve. He’d only been avoiding it on account of how malodorous it was. Once everyone went home, it would be a different story.
‘It’s just a few days,’ he promised. ‘And it’s all completely natural. Well, except the surgery at the end to remove them.’ Round he could cope with. Birthing was another matter entirely.
