Summary: Tosh wishes she hadn't broken Jack's rules. A double drabble.
Tosh frantically dialled Owen’s number, muttered panicked expletives under her breath on every unanswered ring of the phone. ‘Pick up, Owen!’ she hissed.
‘What?’ came the slightly annoyed voice.
‘Owen. Thank God. I need you to come over right away.’ She chewed her lip. ‘God, Jack’s going to kill me.’
‘Tosh, what’s going on?’ Owen asked, now sounding far more patient than before. ‘What’s Jack going to kill you for?’
‘Would you please just come over?’ she begged. ‘I need to show you so we can figure out what to do.’
Owen made it to her flat in record time, clearly concerned about the panicked state she was in, because Tosh rarely ever panicked about anything.
‘What’s going on?’ he asked, pushing through the front door.
‘I know he told us not to take it home, but I couldn’t help it,’ she explained. ‘It just looked so lonely there at the hub. I never took it out of its cage, though. But look!’
Owen peered into the cage. ‘Bloody hell! Its tail has fallen off!’
‘I only turned my back for a few minutes!’
Then Owen laughed. ‘Relax, Tosh. Jack said this might happen. Apparently shedding tails is completely normal.’
