AI has ruined Fan Fiction!

m_findlowMad as hell right now at the spam bots trolling AO3 and putting comments on fics accusing them of being AI generated.
The comments are guest comments but stealing genuine usernames to make them look like the real deal.
The first one I took aim at (politely insulted) unsure if it wasn't genuine, but two on the same fic now and I've reported both as spam.

I thought the dialogue was well done, but I ran this through an AI detector, and it estimated over 60% AI involvement. If you really did write this yourself, please consider uploading some context or drafting notes to verify your authorship. It would help a lot.

Caught KoboldAI at 71% running rampant through this one. Not even trying to sound natural anymore. Anyway, it's officially on the Discord blacklist now. Hopefully that deters people from giving it clicks. We really need better safeguards on the platforms against AI fanfic spam.

Fuck you AI, stealing our works and using them, then putting our stories through your systems and saying they're fake. If they seem like they were written by AI it's only because you stole them in the first place and passed them off as yours.
And fuck your stupid spam bots. Go find something constructive to do with your time and energy, or better yet, fuck off altogether!

Date: 2025-05-01 12:45 pm (UTC)I'm tempted to add something to my profile to the affect that I don't touch AI with a bargepole, I never use it and I never will. I've disabled it everywhere I can. AI is the worst thing to happen to fiction writing, or any other kind of writing, it's destroying creativity.
*hugs* Those 'comments' are so disgusting.
