‘Be careful with that,’ Jack warned.
Owen held the pipette over the beaker of liquid. ‘I am being bloody careful, but I could do without all the distracting nagging,’ he added.
‘You want a one night hangover effect,’ Jack explained. ‘Get the measurements even slightly off and we’ll have people whose last recollections is of the 1981 Eisteddfod. Too much alkalinity and you’ll fry their brains instead.’
‘I did have to pass chemistry to become a doctor, you know,’ Owen huffed. ‘And this isn’t my first time brewing up a batch of retcon.’
‘Never hurts to have a second opinion.’
