Summary: Jack knows the rest of the team won't abandon them to their fate. A double drabble.
Jack knew that they were in trouble. They’d slipped through some kind of crack in time and he hadn’t had any warning, nor felt any of the usual tingling that signalled a shift in his temporal location. Years of Time Agency training had made things like that as natural to him as breathing. This was different though, like it was a trap of some kind rather than just an accidental slippage through time.
The posters pasted to the doors of the dancehall told him what he needed to know about what year it was. Then he saw the look on Tosh’s face. Right now there couldn’t have been a more dangerous time for someone of Japanese descent to be stuck in a place that wasn’t their own.
Jack touched her elbow gently, reminding her that she wasn’t alone. ‘It’ll be okay,’ he whispered. They wouldn't be left here to find their own way back, or worse, to live out the natural passage of time from here on in. The rest of the team would be working on a way to get them back. They just needed a little help from their teammates trapped in 1941 to get them back home.
