torchwood100Summary: Andy has failed one of the most basic rules of Torchwood. A double drabble.
‘I think I found it!’ Andy called out, bending down to pick up the small alarm clock looking object. Of course he knew it wasn’t an alarm clock, because it didn’t have hands, but it did have funny looking alien hieroglyphs all around the outside rim and a small button on top. Maybe on other planets clocks didn’t need hands to tell the time.
‘Eh, what d’you reckon this does?’ he asked, about to press it and see if alien alarm clocks made the same sound as earth ones.
Gwen snatched it from his hands before he could press it. ‘Don’t!’ Gwen berated him. ‘You have no idea what that might do. First rule of Torchwood. You shouldn't have even picked it up.’
‘I thought the first rule was “don’t mess with the rift,” he said, making big quotation fingers around the words and putting on the worst American accent Gwen had ever heard, in a poor imitation of Jack.
‘For all you know that might have transported you to another dimension, and then where would you be?’
‘Um, in another dimension?’ he replied, unsure what the politically safe response was.
‘If you want to help, look, but don’t touch.’
