torchwood100Summary: Jack isn't a fan of the press. A double drabble.
On the whole, Jack liked being the centre of attention. There was one scenario however where Jack positively loathed having anyone in his face or following him around, and that was the news media. They were nosy and hell bent on getting in his way, putting out untrue or incomplete facts and possibly putting people in danger.
But there was one journalist, if he could be called that, who really got up Jack’s nose and that was David Brigstocke. Setting aside his BBC credentials, the man was a journalist-sized thorn in Jack’s backside, who liked to trawl around after Jack.
Even today, when he was off duty and trying to find the perfect gift for Ianto’s upcoming birthday, he wouldn’t leave Jack alone.
‘I know who you are and what you do,’ Brigstocke said, pacing after Jack who had sped up in the hopes that the journalist might think he hadn’t heard him and would back off. No such luck. ‘I know all about Torchwood, too!’ he yelled after him, making Jack’s fists and jaw clench even tighter.
Jack twirled to face him. ‘If you already know everything then go write about it, because you won’t be getting an interview.’
