Summary: Tosh can never go back to a normal job after this. A double drabble.
Tosh had never considered herself an adventurous soul. She was much more at home nestled in front of her books and her computers, chewing over some complex puzzle that no one else seemed to be able to solve. She liked coming up with solutions to the unsolvable.
The idea of running around, chasing down aliens, using guns to defend the city was as far removed from her skill set as she could have imagined, yet Jack had patiently trained her to do all that and more.
‘Once you've gotten a taste of it there's no going back,’ Jack had warned her when she'd accepted the job and all that it might entail, and he'd been right. Despite the danger and the risks, she lived for the rush it brought, never knowing if the day would be dull or exciting, boringly procedural or flying by the seat of their pants.
She also knew it was a great responsibility that he'd placed on her shoulders. The safety of the planet was at stake and any mistakes they made could have consequences for the whole world. Still, it was like Jack said, there was simply no going back to doing anything else now.
