torchwood100Summary: Jack in frustrated that Ianto can't find the thing he needs. A double drabble.
‘So, where is it?’ Jack asked, hands on hips as he waited impatiently for an answer from their archivist.
‘I have no idea,’ Ianto replied. ‘I’ve run every search under the sun, using every possible description of the device and the database comes up empty.’
‘That’s impossible,’ Jack said. ‘I know we’ve got it because I've seen it before.’
‘Any time in the last seventy years?’ came the follow up question.
‘Well, no. It was a long time ago, granted, but it's here. Somewhere…’
‘Well, that’s very helpful, Jack,’ Ianto replied, trying and failing to remove the sarcasm from his voice, dripping thickly with it instead. ‘And perhaps if someone all those deceased ago had thought to jot down some record of where it was being stored, we might have a hope of locating it.’ Ianto held out his arms. ‘But by all means, feel free to have a browse and see if you can find it. We’ve only got eighteen vaults across three levels. And, as you say, you can be certain it’s here. Somewhere.’
Jack growled. ‘How much longer until you’ve got the entire archives up to date and fully catalogued?’
‘Got any immortality that I can borrow?’
