Summary: Jack begins to wonder if Ianto knows more than he's letting on. A double drabble.
'This is the pass code for the secure archive,' Jack said, handing over a small piece of paper with his neat cursive penmanship covering it in pencil. 'I need you to memorise this and then hand it back.'
Ianto gave the scrap of paper one glance and handed it straight back.
'You don't want it?'
'Actually, I've already committed it to memory.'
'Oh.' Jack was surprised by the speed at which his new protege had made the leap into being completely indispensable. 'You can't ever tell anyone else what the secure code is. Ever.'
'I know that. This is where you keep all the most dangerous items, so that none of us might be tempted to ever use them, not even in an emergency. Not even to save you.'
Jack's head snapped around, blue eyes boring right into the young Welshman. It was such a stage thing to say. What did he know? What did he suspect? Was there something that Torchwood One had known about that Jack was sure he'd kept under wraps?
'Your secret is safe with me, sir,' Ianto assured him. 'Nobody gets past the secure archive doors but you. Or me.'
