torchwood100Summary: Torchwood basketball is anything but fair. A double drabble.
‘You sodding cheat!’ Owen yelled as he fell back on his arse, only just missing falling into the rift pool.
‘That was a legal bump,’ Jack argued, having already passed off the ball to Gwen who netted it easily, putting them ahead in the two on two match that was filling in a dull afternoon.
‘Nothing with you is legal,’ Tosh replied.
‘Not what you said when you were on my team,’ Jack replied. He checked his watch. ‘Well, that’s us done for the day. What’s say we pack it up and head out for tea? The losers can shout.’
‘Losers?’ Owen griped. ‘No chance. Ianto, tell him,’ Owen said, throwing it over to their general support officer who had opted not to take part given their unequal number.
‘Actually, both teams cheated on at least three different occasions.’ He ran a pencil down the length of his pocket-sized notepad. ‘So, if we discount all scoring shots where advantage was obtained by committing an illegal move in play… Well, fancy that. It’s a tie.’
‘A tie?’ Four faces glared back, unhappy with the outcome.
‘You could always have a penalty shootout, but it will delay the first round of beers.’
