Martha knocked on Jack's door, observing the niceties since he was in charge around here. ‘I just saw Owen leave.’ She tried not to let her voice betray the anxiousness she felt.
‘Yep,’ Jack said, not even looking up from what he was writing.
Martha raised an eyebrow. ‘And his behaviour doesn't strike you as being suspicious?’
Jack put his pen down and looked at her. ‘I read your report and took it under advisement,’ he replied, ‘but you don't know Owen like I do. He's just found out he isn't dead, but he's not alive either. That's going to take some adjustment.’
‘But the technology in that glove… and you just let him walk out? Unsupervised? We're not even close to understanding how it’s possible, and he's not acting the way a doctor should.’
‘Owen doesn't operate on the same emotional spectrum as the rest of us,’ Jack explained. ‘He's not thinking about the medical implications. Of course I'm worried about him, but not because I think he's dangerous. He hasn't been taken over by malicious forces trying to infiltrate Torchwood. I'm worried because I did this to him, but he's the one that has to live with it.’
