Summary: Owen doesn't like people messing about in his lab. A double drabble.
‘What are you two doing in my lab?’ Owen asked, frowning at the sight of Jack and Ianto tinkering on the counter with various pipettes and glass beakers.
‘It’s not your lab,’ Jack countered. ‘And for your information, we happen to be reviewing the results of the recent alternations to our retcon formula.’ He gave Owen a look. ‘Since it’s become clear that the old formula isn’t working nearly as well as it used to. People are becoming resistant. And since it's too expensive to completely overhaul the sewage treatment works to remove trace elements of retcon, we need to adapt the formula.’
‘I fixed it already,’ Owen replied, feeling miffed that they’d go behind his back like this.
‘Sort of,’ Ianto replied, scrolling through the data on a laptop. ‘Good levels of general brain fogginess, lasting up to forty eight hours in duration from the time of the event to administering the drug. Presence of rupturing skin rash on arms and legs within the next seventy two hours, not so great.’
‘I’d prefer if the people we retcon weren't getting blood tests within days of us drugging them,’ Jack said.
‘I’d prefer if monkeys weren’t in charge of medicine.’
