Summary: Jack is paying the price for being impetuous. A double drabble.
‘It's stinging and itchy,’ Jack said, complaining and digging his nails into his forearm.
‘Don't do that,’ Owen said, still scrolling on his laptop before pausing to examine Jack's rash again. ‘I reckon it's poison ivy,’ he said.
‘Poison ivy doesn't grow in the UK,’ Ianto said, slapping Jack's hand away as he moved to scratch and offering him an ice pack instead.
‘That's why I'm looking it up,’ Owen replied. ‘You're the one who said everything was fine until he scaled that wall.’
Ianto sighed. ‘True. And it did look like ivy. I suppose it's possible that they weren't growing it intentionally. We know what ivy is like. It attaches itself to anything.’
‘Good way to stop people trespassing,’ Owen agreed. ‘They certainly won't try it again after a few days of maddening itching and rashes.’
‘I'm not hearing any sympathy,’ Jack said, face turning sour.
‘Well, I did ask you not to scale the wall,’ Ianto replied. ‘But no, why try and find another safe way inside when you can just scramble through eight feet of poisonous plantlife?’
‘I got in and opened the gate for you!’
‘I was halfway through picking the lock! You were just impatient.’
