torchwood100Summary: Stealing vehicles is just part of the job. A double drabble.
Commandeering other people's vehicles in the line of duty was considered a necessary evil of the job. Sometimes you needed to chase down something that was also on the run, using two or four wheels to make its getaway, being able to snare it in a pincer movement between the SUV and another vehicle. Sometimes it was out of necessity because you were on foot, too far from where you'd left the car parked and time was of the essence. Other times it was the traffic jam from hell, the SUV caught in an impossible gridlock.
Today, Ianto was convinced that there was, in fact, no need at all to steal another vehicle. The SUV was parked right across the road. All it would take was one u-turn and they'd be off. Instead Jack had managed to hotwire a motorbike parked right next to them on the opposite side of the road and was already straddled over it. ‘Get on!’ he yelled over the revving engine.
Ianto knew arguing was pointless and a waste of time. They didn't have helmets or leathers. He'd be putting his safety in Jack's hands, knowing the road rash if they crashed would be hellish.
