Summary: The team's usual order has been upended. A double drabble.
Owen reached across the table and nabbed another spring roll, shoving it into his mouth and biting down. He chewed loudly, savouring the crispy shell as he scoured the tabletop littered with white cardboard boxes. ‘Where's the sweet and sour pork?’ he muffled around vermicelli and minced pork.
Ianto set down his box of chicken chow mein, rested the chopsticks carefully across its top and then pulled the end of the cloth napkin from his chest, dabbing at his mouth. ‘I didn't order any.’
Owen's remaining spring roll ceased its movement towards his mouth. ‘What? But we always have sweet and sour pork.’ He turned to Jack who was hoovering something bright yellow with chicken, using a fork to speed up the process. ‘Tell him. We always have sweet and sour.’
Jack chewed some more and then swallowed a too big mouthful, forcing it past his adam's apple. ‘Normally,’ he said. ‘Sure,’ he added, leaning for his glass of water.
Owen turned back to Ianto. ‘So? What gives?’
Ianto shrugged. ‘I just thought we'd try something different for a change. Besides, there's nothing really sour about sweet and sour pork. It's just sweet.’
Owen gasped. ‘That's the whole sodding point!’
