Summary: Torchwood One is beginning to make contingency plans. A double drabble.
Yvonne poked at the intercom on her desk. A moment later, her executive assistant was quietly sweeping through the door. ‘Yes, Yvonne?’
‘Ianto, be a dear and get me a full inventory of everything we believe to be stored at Torchwood Three.’
There was a pregnant pause before he replied. ‘Everything? As in…’
‘All of it. Alien or otherwise, right down to how many pens they have and how many fresh pages are left in their copy machine.’
‘That's going to be… ah… quite a list.’ Not a list really, but more like a terabyte sized hard drive. It wouldn't be an easy task by any means. They filed their data across multiple points, some centralised, some in remote caches, and much of it, he suspected, was in fact not inventoried at all. That might have been intentional. ‘Can I ask why we suddenly require such an extensive inventory?’
Yvonne's expression shifted. ‘Let's just say I've been in touch with our lovely Welsh counterparts and things have turned a little bit sour. I expect we may not have access to their data for very much longer.’
‘That's… unfortunate,’ he replied, struggling for the correct descriptor.
Yvonne smirked. ‘Isn't it just?’
