Summary: Ianto gets a rude awakening on his Sunday off. A double drabble.
Ianto rolled over in bed, still half asleep as he made himself comfortable on his right side. His arm lazily reached out to wrap around Jack, finding the warm body underneath and nestling into it.
Then something damp touched his nose, and then a tongue licked at his face and he recoiled, waking fully and opening his eyes. It hadn't been Jack that he'd spooned, but rather their dog. Blech! He rubbed at his face with the inside of his forearm, which was enough to stir Jack awake.
‘Morning, gorgeous.’ Then he started ruffling the ears of their beloved canine. ‘And how are you this morning, beautiful?’
‘You know,’ Ianto began, ‘I remember a time when Sunday morning lie-ins meant not having a third body in the bed between us, and not being woken up by sloppy dog kisses.’
Jack carried on rewarding their fur baby with more scratches and tummy rubs. ‘He likes to be as close as possible because he loves us. And we love you. Yes, we do!’
Ianto rolled his eyes. ‘He's the only one enjoying Sundays now.’
Jack grinned. ‘I'm always happy to give you sloppy face kisses. This tongue is ready to go anywhere.’
