torchwood100Summary: Martha Jones is more Torchwood than she gives herself credit for. A double drabble.
Ianto didn't know much about Martha Jones apart from what her UNIT file told him. He knew she'd been a companion to the Doctor and spent some time with Jack, but Jack was always tight-lipped about anything to do with the Doctor, particularly anything to do with his most recent escapades. Something bad had happened, and if Jack didn't want to talk about it, then it must have been truly awful.
Still, he seemed to hold Martha in high esteem and Jack wasn't the easiest person to please.
‘How are you settling in?’ he asked, bringing her a mug of hot chocolate. She didn't drink coffee, which was usually a black mark against someone's name, but to each their own, he supposed. She was a doctor after all. Probably thought too much caffeine was bad for you.
‘Not sure I quite know where to fit in,’ Martha replied. ‘Everyone around here seems to know what they're doing. I'm just a doctor.’
Ianto shrugged off the obvious impostor syndrome. ‘Jack says you're the kind of person he'd want by his side in a crisis. That's pretty much good enough for the rest of us. Even if you do work for UNIT.’
