Summary: Ianto is having trouble finding a point of agreement. A double drabble.
‘I need to go for a walk,’ Ianto said, desperate for some air. You get to come with me, he told the dumpy Sontaran. He wasn’t about to let it out of his sight for a moment, even if they were stuck in a Porthcawl caravan park, which might as well have been the middle of nowhere. What had he ever done to deserve this babysitting slash negotiation exercise?
These places had seemed so nice as a boy, Ianto thought as he trudged between the filthy caravans and their equally filthy occupants. Funny how childhood made everything seem rosy.
‘Are there any peace terms you’ll accept?’
‘No.’
‘Monetary settlement?’
‘No.’
‘Weapons exchange?’
‘No.’
Ianto growled. ‘Why are you being so difficult?’ he said, beginning to lose his temper. ‘I’ve been nothing but cordial and everything is “No, no, no.” Don’t you ever say yes? Are you really just here to waste my time trying to talk you out of invading Earth? Is that what this is? Go on, say yes. I dare you.’
The Sontaran frowned, looked like it was agonising, then pointed at the sign behind him which read “Refuse Point”.
Ianto groaned. ‘No sense of humour either.’
‘No.’
