Summary: Ianto is painfully aware of how much he stands out. A double drabble.
Ianto had become accustomed to the hustle and bustle of London life, but now he was experiencing something altogether different.
Since the day that the Cybermen had roamed the streets, and Torchwood Tower had become overrun with both Cybermen and Daleks, people had given Canary Wharf a wide berth. Some of it had been cordoned off, but those that normally worked in the busy district were suddenly nowhere to be seen. The place had become a ghost town.
Ianto knew that wasn't strictly true. There were Torchwood Three agents still roaming the area, scouring it for remnants of its London counterparts, looking to take what they could and destroy the rest. That was the protocol. Ianto knew it well, but he also had things he needed more than they did. Critical parts that would help to build a temporary life support system. Parts that Torchwood Three would be ordered to destroy.
Ianto had to beat them to it, find what he needed and get out of there without being detected. On an ordinary day that might have been easy, blending into a crowd of thousands, but now it was virtually impossible. A lone survivor stood out like a sore thumb.
