Summary: Ianto Isn't happy about Jack's decision. A double drabble.
‘I bet you're feeling pretty smug right now.’ Ianto was scowling behind the heavy headpiece, not that Jack could see it.
‘Smug?’ Jack replied, unable to resist giving a smug look. ‘No. Comfortable with my decision, yes.’
‘You have to admit it worked,’ Gwen said, always playing arbiter between them.
‘Was there ever any doubt?’ Jack replied. ‘No matter where you go in the universe, one inimitable truth always holds. No matter who you are, everyone needs their mum. We'll, except for the Slitheen. They eat theirs immediately upon hatching to provide their first source of nutrition.’
Gwen pulled a face. ‘Lovely.’
‘Fine,’ Ianto huffed, ‘but I still don't understand why I had to be the one to dress up as mummy dearest.’ Ianto squirmed in the stifling teddy bear costume as the alien clung to his furry leg in a death grip. Jack had described it as being the closest physical match to the creature's natural maternal figure. He just didn't know why he hadn't been allowed a say in the decision to act as bait.
‘Because you're adorable and cuddly,’ Jack replied. ‘Who wouldn't want a snuggle? In fact, after we're done here…’
‘No. No cosplay for you.’
