People think I'm mad when I say I love wintertime...

It might be four seasons in one day, but I wouldn't trade winter in Melbourne for anything. Half an hour before this, it was as grey and gloomy as you like, then it rained for a few minutes, then this:

I only wish I'd had my camera last night to capture the spectacular sunset that came after a morning of rain and hail.

I was just thinking, that grass is incredibly lush for Winter, but you're right, four seasons in one day does have its advantages for the gardens :)

The parkland there runs alongside the Yarra river, so it tends to be very green all year round, but with such a wide open space, watching the clouds break up is lovely.

Your winter does not resemble my winter in the slightest! I think I'd quite like your winter. Our winters have leafless trees, subzero temperatures, heavy frosts that turn everything white, ice on the ground making pavements slippery and dangerous, rain and snow and grey skies, and wind that feels like it cuts right through to your bones....

This looks more like our spring =)

Oh, we still get grey skies and chilling winds, but it's not cold enough for snow. Some mornings it can drop near zero but most the time it's about 7 up to around 15. It's the randomness that it can change fifteen times in one day, from rain and squall to clear sky and sun, and then back again even if there's no warmth. Still plenty of bare trees but lots of evergreens too.

Eucalyptus trees don't shed all their leaves, do they? I seem to recall something about that, although I could be wrong...

Definitely warmer than here, that's a bearable winter, I could live with that but i wouldn't be able to handle your summer temperatures *melts*
