'It's a rock,' Jack sighed, leaning heavily against the tall stone pillar, unclipping his P-90.
'It's a tablet,' Daniel replied patiently, examining the markings on it.
'Same difference,' he said, adjusting his sunglasses and cap.
Daniel put it down for a moment and looked up at Jack, exasperated sigh on his lips.
'It's evidence of a completely new civilisation that we know nothing about. Doesn't that strike you as exciting?'
'If by new, you mean, haven't been back here for a thousand years, then uh, no actually.'
'Is there anything that would excite you at this point?'
'Lunch,' he replied.

Date: 2016-09-11 10:49 am (UTC)I'm watching season 7 at the moment (for the umpteenth time) because there are re-runs on TV. 5 episodes a week has even triggered me to write a few bits.

Date: 2016-09-11 11:29 am (UTC)Occasionally I catch a rerun on TV but it doesn't have the same impact it used to, but some of O'Neill's lines still crack me up, like when he's doing the crossword and Carter says, the clue was celestial body and you wrote Uma Thurman, and he just says yes.
I always wanted to write Fanfic for it years and years ago, but wasn't into writing back then because I thought you had to be able to come up with some epically long storyline which I'm rubbish at. Drabbling is a nice way to ease back into the Fandom.

Date: 2016-09-11 04:31 pm (UTC)That's one of the reasons I wanted to star this community - it gives people the chance to try out fandoms in small doses and see what they like writing. I've gone with Star Trek this time around, been wanting to try my hand at that for a while and my new prompt inspired me =D
