Summary: Jack is learning a lot about Ianto

'I can't believe you're reading those again,' Ianto said, catching Jack out in the act of rifling through a box of his old diaries, reading them. 'Don't you have any work to do?'

'This is way more fun,' he replied, feeling no shame whatsoever in getting caught.

'I don't know why you bother. Most of what's in there is mindless rubbish.'

'Speak for yourself. It's fascinating,' he replied, delving back into the well thumbed pages.

Ianto picked one up and opened it to a random page.

'"Quiet day for the rift, which makes for a nice change. Why does Jack insist on putting tomato sauce on everything?" Yes, I see what you mean, a real page turner.'

'That's a bad example and you know it,' Jack replied. 'I love reading your innermost thoughts.'

'If you wanted my innermost thoughts, why not just ask me?'

'Ha!' Jack scoffed. 'As if I'd ever get the real Ianto Jones. You'd only tell me what I want to hear.'

'No I wouldn't,' he said, thinking of all the times he'd told Jack exactly what he didn't want to hear, no matter how badly he didn't want to hear it. He'd done a lot of placating as well, but figured the two probably evened out along the way.

'I like these better,' Jack said. 'You'd never word the truth quite the same way out loud as you do on paper. I love hearing your thoughts and recollections of our various cases. They're so much more interesting than the reports you file. It's beautiful. I love your deepest thoughts.'

It made Ianto blush. He'd given up trying to hide his diaries from Jack long ago. He was far too persistent in trying new tactics to uncover their whereabouts, including several sets of hideous double dares, vicious tickling and a few rounds of hypervodka to loosen Ianto's tongue. It was dirty and unfair, but in the end, he'd decided there was nothing in his diaries that Jack was likely to take offense to, and that he shouldn't be embarrassed by anything he'd written, so the effort of trying to keep them hidden was wasted. It was only his current one now that he kept under close wraps. The rest were simply tucked away in a box under their bed, where Jack could look at them any time he wanted. Ianto had hoped that in making them freely available that it would quell any urges Jack had to read them. Experience had taught him that Jack enjoyed the chase. He didn't mind the capture either, but reverse psychology had its uses. This time it had backfired. Instead of causing him to lose interest in something that was given so willingly, it had become his own personal version of trashy romance novels. The kind you should be embarrassed to be reading, but simply could help yourself; his own little guilty pleasure.

Ianto sighed. 'So what juicy details do you feel like you've gleaned today?'

'Well, for starters, why am I only finding out now that you don't like spaghetti carbonara?'

'It's the cream. It's too heavy. Makes me feel nauseous.'

'See. That's something you should have told me.'

'Well, I'm so glad that's out in the open now. My heart feels lighter for you knowing,' Ianto quipped. 'Any other life changing revelations I should be aware of?'

'Only that I read a delicious little piece about how you love that thing I do with my tongue in your ear.'

That sent him bright red. He'd forgotten he'd written that down, including that part where he'd also written that he would never tell Jack just how much he enjoyed it. If he did, Jack would be able to reduce him to a pile of gelatinous mush in about twenty seconds. He didn't want Jack to have that kind of power over him.

'Oh, I see I've struck a chord,' he said, getting up out of his chair and stepping over to him, grinning.

'You mean this thing?' he said, leaning across and dipping his tongue inside Ianto's ear, swirling it around in a slow circle. Ianto nearly went weak at the knees, moaning softly.

'Oh, yes,'

'See, and you thought my morning was a complete waste.'

Letting Jack read his diaries is turning into a mixed blessing for Ianto! No more carbonara sauce, but Jack will now be able to short-circuit ianto's brain any time he chooses! Wonder what else is in those diaries...

Adorable! Thanks for the fill =)
