Jack heard the distinct sound as Ianto struck the match along the box, the tiny flame bursting into life before settling it next to the candle wick, allowing it to catch. He held up the match and gently blew it out, letting the small yellow light suffuse the space between them.

'Not quite what you planned, I'm sure,' Ianto said, giving him a gentle smile.

Jack loved Ianto's infinite patience. He'd meant well, organising a romantic dinner, but the fairy lights he'd spent all afternoon hanging around the room had now blown their fuse box plunging them into darkness.

Sweet! Fairy lights might be romantic, but candles are more traditional ;)
