Being alone had never bothered him. He'd spent a lot of time alone over the years, constantly away for work or late nights at the office.

But ever since Rebecca had been murdered, he'd felt alone and adrift. Gone were the days brimming with confidence and happiness, replaced by days of emptiness and pain.

It had been all he could do to escape, to run away and find a place where they could make the pain go away. He learned to embrace solitude, and channel it into a weapon. Whilst he didn't love, no one could ever hurt him again.
