Vala plonked herself on Daniel's desk, ignoring the pile of books she upended, swinging  her legs in a bored fashion.

'Do you know what this place needs, Daniel?'

'Doors?' he replied, wishing just for once that he could have more than ten minutes peace.

'No. A mascot,' she grinned.

'A mascot?' he said, raising an eyebrow.

'Yeah. I was thinking something like maybe a dashing heroine. Tall, lithe, long black hair. Something that would inspire the men and women of Stargate Command.'

'And we couldn't just have a dog, or something?'

'See, this is my point, Daniel! Inspiration requires imagination!'
