Ianto caught the frown on Jack's face and sighed, listening to the rain pattering on the car roof.
'What's wrong now?'
'Nothing,' Jack replied, forcing himself to keep staring out the window in front of him, expression darkening.
'Liar,' Ianto said. 'I always know when you're not happy about something.'
Jack sighed loudly, slumping in the seat. 'It was supposed to be a nice picnic. Just the two of us. Some sweet summer loving and all that jazz. Should've known Cardiff couldn't be trusted to give us so much as one afternoon of blue skies and sunshine.'
Ianto stared out the windscreen. It was anything but summer out there now. The sun had made a brief appearance before the black clouds had rolled in, sending picnic goers everywhere scrambling for shelter. The car park was all but empty except for their vehicle now. Everyone else had given up hope of the weather improving.
'Could be worse,' he said. 'Sandwich?' he asked, pulling them out from the barely touched basket of goodies he'd packed.
'Ta,' Jack said, still sounding grumpy.
'Technically it's still summer,' Ianto said. 'If loving is what you're after, I'm sure we could manage that without the sun.'
