The view from atop the Wall is one that is breathtaking. For all its ferocity, cold and grey when the winter winds whip up its thousand feet of height, it is also a thing of beauty.

When the sun breaks through the clouds, the ice glows bright blue and white, glittering as the light refracts off individual flakes, producing a rainbow of colour.

But when the sun goes down, the Wall plunges into darkness, and no matter how high it rises, the things that lurk beyond it in the darkness, would freeze the hearts of even the bravest Black Brother.
