Summary: When every day is filled with weird, dreams become so boring

Jack felt Ianto bolt upright in the bed next to him.

'Hey, what's wrong?' he said, sounding worried, rubbing a reassuring hand up and down Ianto's arm where he was propped up on it.

'Nothing. It's nothing,' he said, sounding uncertain.

'Doesn't sound like nothing. C'mon, you can tell me. Did you have a nightmare or something?'

Ianto let out a mirth filled chuckle. 'I don't think it qualifies as a nightmare. It's stupid, really.'

Jack wrapped his arms around him, snuggling close. 'Tell me anyway.'

'Well,' Ianto said, easing back into Jack's embrace, 'it all starts off with a rift alert in our laundry, then I go and find that Janet is in there folding towels, and then our tumble dryer explodes, and every sock we own ends up pink and shrunken to half size.'

'All of them?'

'All of them,' Ianto confirmed.

'So, you woke up because our dryer broke down and we had no socks? That's gotta be the most mundane nightmare ever.'

'Yup. So, can I go back to sleep now?'

Yes, and not having any clean, wearable socks is a most disconcerting prospect for any Ianto. It borders on the unthinkable. ;)
