Disclaimer: I don't own them.
Jack leaned over the railing, letting the wind and rain lash him. He didn't want to be inside anymore, watching his team's expressions, wondering what they must think of him.
The feeling of cold water dripping down on his head was brought to an abrupt halt, replaced by a heavy pattering sound.
'Tough day,' Tosh said, holding the umbrella aloft over them, gripping it hard against the wind.
'Tough day,' Jack agreed, continuing to stare ahead, face grim as Tosh watched him.
'Everyone always looks to me to make the right decision,' Jack said. 'Truth is, I don't have all the answers, Tosh.' He turned to face her. 'Does that scare you?'
In their line of work, perhaps it should have, but it didn't.
'I don't think I'd have known what the right answer was either. I don't think any of us would.'
'Doesn't help console the families of those three boys.'
No, she supposed it didn't. 'I know one thing, though.'
'What's that?'
'That if I were you, I wouldn't let anyone on the team blame themselves for what happened, so don't go blaming yourself either.'
Jack shook his head.
'Come inside,' Tosh insisted. 'I'll make us some tea.'
