Summary: Ianto tries to make things up to Jack, with unexpected consequences.

'There's my good girl,' Ianto crooned, patting Myfanwy's neck gently as she nibbled his hand for the tiny pieces of rich, dark chocolate. He reached down and plucked out a piece for himself, enjoying its bitter sweetness. For anyone else Myf would have taken offense, but Ianto was different. Some of it was melting on his palm, but that didn't bother him. When no one was looking, he'd lick it off, before washing his hand properly. No sense wasting good chocolate.

He turned around to reach for the wet wipes on his desk only to find Jack standing behind him, arms crossed, looking sulky.

'What are you moping about now?' he asked, wiping his hands as Myfanwy took flight, returning to her nest high above.

'How come I never get chocolate?'

Ianto scoffed, trying to suppress the bemused expression on his face that would only upset Jack further. 'You get chocolate hobnobs with your coffee all the time, even when I lie to Owen and tell him there aren't any left.'

'That's not the same thing.'

Ianto rolled his eyes. What Jack meant was, why didn't he get handed chocolate, fed into his mouth, piece by piece like some puffed up prince? Next thing he'd want to be fanned with a palm frond as well.

'Stop sulking. It's unbecoming in someone of your age.'

'What age would that be?'

What age, indeed? Ianto wondered.

Rather than perpetuate Jack's sulking, he made a stop off at the shops on his afternoon rounds, making sure to pick up an obscene amount of chocolate. If Jack wanted chocolate, then that was what he was going to get. He spent a half hour perusing the shelves, picking out one of everything, and two of his particular favourites, just on the off chance Jack felt like sharing. He finished it off by buying a basket to put it all in and some cellophane to wrap it. Jack's famously short attention span should be satisfied by the gift, and it would put an end to any arguments about favouritism, if such a thing could even be proven.

Jack was out by the time he returned, so he left the handsome hamper on his desk and headed home to bed.

When he woke the next morning, Jack was cuddled up around him. He hadn't even noticed him come home.

'Morning.'

'Urgh,' came the reply.

'What's wrong? Are you sick?' Ianto said, sitting up to check on his lover.

'I think I ate too much chocolate,' Jack groaned. 'Thanks, by the way.'

Ianto stroked Jack's hair, rolling his eyes. 'How much did you eat?'

'All of it.'

The admission nearly made him fall out of bed. 'Jack! That was enough chocolate to last weeks, months even!'

'I couldn't stop. It was just so good.'

'This is why I only give Myf a few pieces. You're as bad as each other. No self control whatsoever.' Ianto got out of bed. 'Don't expect me to feel sorry for you, now. Idiot!'

Moderation, Jack! Not that his overindulgence will have put him off chocolate...
