Summary: Suzie proves to be quite a distraction for Owen
Oneday, she thought, shaking her head. Why the hell had she thought Owen was boyfriend material? Well, maybe boyfriend was too strong a word for it. Okay, so the sex was pretty amazing and it wasn't like either of them worked anything close to normal hours. There was also the fact that she was sick of having to pick up deadbeats at clubs late at night, looking for a good time, only to be disappointed by the drunken sex, sitting there in bed telling them all about her day; all the mad and crazy stuff that they'd never believe. It was lucky they were drunk, else one of them was likely to call the police and have her taken away. Instead most of them were too selfish to listen to what she was saying, happy for the no obligation tumble between the sheets, and then she'd have to retcon them and dump the body somewhere come morning. It was getting to be more trouble than it was worth. Owen, on the other hand, was convenient, didn't bother with all the bullshit, and just got down to what they both really wanted. Perhaps if she tried harder, they could be something more, but it was times like these that she really wondered. This was just downright embarrassing.
'I swear it was here,' he muttered, checking under the table, looking confused.
Bloody hell, she thought. They'd only knocked off for ten minutes; just a tidy little shag in the office down the hall. Using the bedroom would have been too much. Besides, she much preferred the rough and ready style. She looked back at Owen who was now checking the next room. Jack was going to kill them for this.
'You're sure it wasn't... you know?' she asked, giving him a sideways glance that he found both condescending and arousing all at the same time.
'I've got a fucking medical degree! I think I'd know,' he spat back, wondering how it had all gone pear-shaped so quickly. It wasn't meant to happen like this, but God, she was a good shag.
'Think you'd know what?' Jack asked, appearing from nowhere. He looked around. 'Hey, where is it?' he said.
Suzie stared hard at Owen, leaving him to explain.
He scratched his head, looking sheepish. 'Er, dunno,' he replied awkwardly.
Jack put his hands on his hips.
'How can you lose a dead body? It's not as if it could just wander off!'
'Don't be too hard on him, Jack,' Suzie replied. 'He's probably got a lot on his mind.'
'Such as?' Jack said, raising an eyebrow. Did she really think he didn't know about them? He could practically smell the sex on them. Plus, it was the only time Owen ever looked flustered. Suzie was certainly a handful, and even Jack had to admit he'd have been hard pressed going head to head with her. Not that she hadn't tried it early on, but he'd been stronger back then.
'Well, Owen?' Jack said, folding his arms. 'Are you going to stand there all day and hope that it reappears?'
Owen huffed and pushed past them both, heading out of the house and back towards the car. Suzie shrugged and followed after him.
Jack shook his head at the pair of them and knelt down, examining the spot where the corpse had been. There was the sound of a light footfall behind him. He stood back up, dusting off his knee.
'The body is all packed away in the back of the car, sir. Will there be anything else?'
Jack grinned. 'You're a cruel man, Ianto Jones. Owen thinks we've had a resurrection. Bodies on the run.'
'I have no idea what you mean, sir,' he replied, a small smile on his face.
'Well, I guess that'll teach him for shagging on the job.'
'He learnt from the best.'
Jack grinned, placing a lazy hand on Ianto's hip, leaning in to whisper in his ear.
'I don't know what you mean, Ianto Jones.'
