Summary: Jack has taken Ianto's suggested dress code a little too literally
Jack had been looking forward to this evening all day long. Finally the rift was going to be on its best behaviour and he and Ianto were going to have a good old fashioned date night at home. Ianto insisted on taking charge of the night, telling Jack that under no circumstances was he to lift a finger. It didn't quite make any sense to Jack, since Ianto was the one who was endlessly running around looking after the team. It should have been Jack giving Ianto the night off, but he'd been so insistent that he couldn't say no to Ianto. All he could do was to send him home early to let him get on with things.
'Okay, I'm off,' Ianto said, walking into Jack's office, giving him a quick peck on the cheek. 'I'll see you at home in a few hours.'
'Do you want me to bring anything?' Jack asked.
Ianto smiled. 'Just your gorgeous self.'
'Should I wear anything special?'
'No need to dress up. It's just us.' Ianto gave him another quick kiss and left.
Jack grinned. Tonight couldn't come soon enough.
Ianto had a busy afternoon, but despite that it was a relaxing one. For some reason spending a whole afternoon in the kitchen, whipping up a three course meal was far more enjoyable than trawling through boxes of old artifacts in the archives, looking for the one object that Jack was after, with only the vaguest description about what it looked like and what he thought it might do. This was much better, the scent of rich food wafting throughout the house, soothing music playing in the background, and the promise of a night together with Jack and no interruptions.
He only just heard the door open and shut down the hallway, signalling Jack's entrance. Giving the pot a final stir before setting the spoon down on the spoon rest, he went to go and greet Jack. A whole afternoon of cooking had left him feeling very amorous. He came out into the hall and saw Jack, who reached out for him and kissed him first.
'Hey sexy,' Jack greeted him.
Ianto blinked and looked at Jack. 'Uh, why aren't you wearing any clothes?'
'You said not to bother getting dressed.'
Ianto rolled his eyes. Jack was so literal sometimes. 'When I said you didn't have to dress up, I didn't mean you didn't have to dress at all!'
Jack looked confused. 'Oh, you meant not to wear something fancy! I totally misinterpreted that.'
'Idiot,' Ianto muttered, kissing him anyway. Jack gave into the kiss for a long while before pulling away.
'So, are you going to take those off?'
'Take what off?'
'Your clothes.'
'Why would I take off my clothes, apart from the obvious?'
'Well, you said not to dress up, and it's just us tonight, so who needs clothes?'
Ianto raised his eyebrows at Jack. 'You're suggesting we have a naked date night?'
'Who else is going to see us? All I want is to spend the whole night with you, and I'd like to be able to admire all of you. All night long,' Jack added, slowly beginning to toy with the top buttons on Ianto's shirt, undoing them one by one.
Ianto sighed, letting Jack continue to undress him. He supposed there were worse things. He had wanted an intimate night together, after all. He was just going to find it mightily hard to concentrate on enjoying the food when dessert was sitting there so temptingly across from him.
