Did somebody order a white Christmas???

Good old Melbourne weather strikes again...
Earlier today it was 36 celcius, then we sat down for dinner and this happened:

Look at my poor watering can, utterly annihilated!

This is the biggest hail I've ever seen.

If by chance you did order a white Christmas, please let me know the appropriate forwarding address. We only want light, fluffy snow.

Date: 2017-12-19 09:14 am (UTC)I've always wanted a white Christmas...but that's not quite what I've ever had in mind when I imagined one!
(And I've always wondered how the heck anybody in the Southern Hemisphere manages Christmas. Christmas in the summer just seems so strange to me--but, then, I guess anyone used to celebrating it as a summer holiday probably wonders how we manage it up here.)

Date: 2017-12-19 09:46 am (UTC)It wasn't what I had in mind either! Luckily no major damage to the house or car. We didn't even have time to put the car in the garage. The glass table was spared by our umbrella!
We still do a traditional Christmas meal, it's just usally followed by relaxing out in the afternoon sunshine with cool fruit punch. Would love to have a proper white Christmas with snow to go along with all those twinkling lights in the streets. :)

Date: 2017-12-19 08:54 pm (UTC)That is some decent sized hail! It's a wonder the umbrella survived.
We're having our second 40 degree day in a row here in western Sydney, and a thunder storm predicted for late this afternoon, where we might get hail as well.
You look like you're going to have a much more pleasant day today at least.
You gotta love it cos there's really no way to get away from it.
