Title: Tangled
Author: m_findlow
Characters: Ianto, Jack
Rating: PG
Challenge: 488 - Swear at tw100
Notes: Torchwood and camping just don't mix. A double drabble.
'I swear I did it right,' Jack insisted, as the fallen tent tangled around them in the middle of the night. Ianto should've known better than to let Jack put it up. How hard could it be, he'd thought, organising kindling for the fire, along with fresh water from a nearby stream. The tents should have been idiot proof, but one solid gust of wind from the storm outside had sent it tumbling down around them.
'Uh huh,' Ianto replied, sounding thoroughly unconvinced.
'Scout's honor,' Jack said, giving him a mock salute.
'You were never a boy scout.'
'You don't know that for sure,' Jack countered.
'Did they have scouts where you grew up on Boeshane?'
'Well, no, but,'
'Then you were never a scout.'
'Then I swear on the Bible.'
'You're not Christian, either.'
'I never said what Bible.'
'For arguments sake, let's presume you meant the Christian one,' Ianto replied, trying to wriggle out of the sleeping bag so that he could prop up the tent before it drowned them.
'Did you help put up the others?'
'No, just ours.'
'Lucky me, then,' Ianto replied, wondering if he could just crawl into Owen's tent and leave Jack here.
