Summary: Jack is all hot bothered about something.
There were definitely advantages to Jack wearing his heart on his sleeve. However it was no secret that he was in a foul mood today, making everyone’s lives miserable, criticising their efforts and complaining loudly at the general state of things.
What had him in such a rut was as yet undefined, but from the looks Ianto was getting from the rest of the team, it was up to him to figure it out. Not only that, but then he’d also have to find a solution to the problem, else it wouldn’t just be Jack making his life difficult. Somehow when Jack was in a temper, Ianto bore the brunt of the side affects from the rest of the team. It was as if they blamed him. To his best knowledge, he wasn’t the root cause of Jack’s ire, though sometimes it was hard to tell. It was far more likely that someone on the other end of the phone or an email had sent him flying into a rage.
He'd tried to get to the bottom of it using the gently gently method, but Jack remained sulky and then started demanding why certain reports weren't finished. He hadn't noticed they were tucked at the bottom of the ever growing pile of reports he himself hadn't finished.
'Do something,' Owen complained.
'Like what?'
'Well, he clearly needs to blow off some steam. Go take him out to shoot something. Must be a blowfish wandering around the city somewhere. That ought to cheer him up.'
Ianto rolled his eyes. Letting Jack near a weapon in this temper was probably a bad idea. Then again, the shooting range did present possibilities. He just had to find a way to get Jack down there.
He came and stood in front of Jack's desk and waited for him to look up.
'Yes?' Jack asked, his patience looking tested.
'I'm overdue for some weapons training.'
'So go down there and practice, if you're so worried about it.'
'You're overdue, too.'
'I don't need practice.'
Ianto gave the most unconvinced "uh huh" possible.
Jack huffed and put his pen down. 'You wanna do this right now?'
'No time like the present.'
Jack rolled his eyes, but he did get up, brushing past Ianto and letting him follow in Jack's wake.
By the time they'd reached the lower level, Jack turned to face him. 'I still don't see why-'
He didn't get to finish his sentence because Ianto grabbed him roughly and forced him up against the wall, kissing him fiercely. Jack fought back hard, but Ianto didn't let up until Jack was kissing him back. He fought the whole time, nipping and biting, tearing at clothes until he had Ianto on the floor right where he wanted him, taking him rougher than Ianto would normally have liked. By the time they were done, Ianto knew he'd be very sore but Jack's mood had turned a complete one eighty.
Owen was going to owe him big time.
