Summary: The boys are caught short in a power outage.

'What happened? Everything went dark,' Jack said, starting around at their house now cloaked in black.

'The power went out,' Ianto replied, as if it was obvious. 'Let me go check the fuse box.'

Jack sat there and listened as he heard Ianto leave the room, bumping into something on his way.

'It's not us,' he reported as he came back. 'Must be the whole suburb.'

'We ought to get the candles out, then,' Jack said.

'What candles?'

'The ones we keep for blackouts.'

'This isn't the nineteen hundreds, Jack. People don't keep candles anymore.'

'Well, clearly they should do.'

Jack is right. There are people over here who were left without power just recently. Candles are always a good thing to have handy.

Ianto will stock up on emergency camp lights for next time. They're much less hazardous than open flames, though less romantic. Maybe just leave two for the dining room table. :)
