Summary: Boeshane is not quite what Ianto expected. A double drabble.

Ianto had expected that Jack's home would be something of a beach paradise. He'd always talked about growing up by the beach. In fact, it was less Balinese than he'd been lead to believe. It was much more windswept and barren, with barely a tree in sight. It was low grasses that dominated the long sand dunes, yet the sea was just as sparkling as he imagined. Out here there was nothing but nature, no sign of any cities or even the village where Jack had grown up. It was a rugged beauty that captured the soul.

It had been hot and windy earlier, causing his shirt to stick to his back as they explored the dunes. He anticipated the night would be just as hot and sticky. Instead the change rolled in suddenly. Black clouds loomed overhead and the temperature dropped quickly. Gusty cool winds brought whipping rains that sent them scrambling for shelter, and lightning lit up the sky.

'Sorry about the weather,' Jack apologised as they huddled together in a small lee. 'Turns on a dime out here. Always has.'

'No problem,' Ianto replied.

'What do you think? It's not much, I know.'

'I think it's incredible.'

I love that kind of wild, rugged beauty. I was always more of a beachcomber than a sunbather. Wish I could explore that beach too.
