'Found it!' Owen called out.

'You sure?' Jack asked, jogging up to meet him.

'Unless everything around here is soaked in rift radiation, then yes.' He handed over the antique brooch.

'Nice,' Jack said.

'Can I keep it?' Owen asked. Jack looked at him quizzically. 'What would you want with an old brooch?'

Owen shuffled nervously. 'My gran had one like that once. Sentimental value.'

'Right,' Jack slowly replied. 'Well, once it's clear of residual radiation I don't suppose there's any reason why not.'

'Thanks boss,' he said, wandering back to the car.

'You're not really letting him have it, are you?' Ianto asked. 'He'll be down the pawn shop quick as a flash.'

'I know. Shame it's worthless costume jewelry,' he said, holding it up to the light.

'But it looks like a priceless antique.'

'Trust me. I've been around. I know a fake when I see one. A good effort, but still a fake.'

He handed it to Ianto who peered at it closely, unable to tell himself that it wasn't genuine.' All that glitters is not gold, I suppose,' he mused, handing it back.

'And Owen gets to find that out the hard way,' Jack replied, grinning.
