Summary: Andy just wants to show his enthusiasm for the job.

Ianto was frantically trying to do twelve things at once whist the computers continued to blare out alarms left, right and centre. Why did the rift always have to ark up in the middle of the night, he wondered. In fairness, it probably did so just as often during the day, but it didn't make being woken up in the middle of the night any less pleasant.

Andy barged through the door, dragging Ianto's attention away from the impending crisis temporarily.

'What do you need me to do?' Andy asked.

Ianto blinked and looked at him. 'Uh, why are you wearing pajamas?'

'I got the call from Jack. He said to hurry and that there was no time to waste, so here I am. Andy Davidson, ready to go.'

Ianto wanted to laugh but there was hardly time for it. Andy had been working for them for a few months now, but he was still a little eager to please, and took things literally. Jack seemed to find amusement in winding him up, feeding him information and seeing how Andy reacted. Ianto should probably speak to him about taking advantage of him like that.

'I think he still intended for you to get dressed first,' Ianto said. Points for enthusiasm. Execution on the other hand...

'Right, well, you probably should be a little clearer with your instructions, then?' Andy suggested, as if it were Ianto's fault.

'I'll make a note for next time.' A new alarm on his screen caught his attention. 'Perhaps you might go find Jack and see what he wants you to help with?'

Adelaide was the first to notice Andy's attire as she came over to meet them, arriving a good fifteen minutes after Andy had.

'What the hell is that?' she said, pinching her face at him.

'Nice jim jams, don't you think?' Jack grinned.

'Didn't you have any clean laundry?' Adelaide asked.

Andy rolled his eyes. 'I was in a hurry,' he said, trying to keep the annoyance out of his voice. 'It sounded very important that we not dawdle to an emergency?' he lectured. Lately everything that came out of his mouth had that rising inflection, indicating that he thought everyone else was barking mad and not him.

'Whatever,' she replied. 'At least I don't look like a goose.'

'Hey, some women find men in pajamas very attractive,' he said, attempting to defend himself. Against Adelaide it was probably a wasted effort.

'Ianto is more of a Bruce Wayne fan,' Jack said, noting the Superman logos printed all over Andy's pajamas. 'To be fair, though, he looks good in pretty much anything, or nothing at all.'

Ianto cleared his throat loudly, announcing his presence behind them. 'Can we maybe focus on the task at hand?'

'Just saying,' Jack shrugged. 'Looks like we've got multiple bogeys across the Cathays area.'

'Okay, well, I've got Jez, Gwen and Johnson already headed out to follow up three of the signals. You, me and Adelaide should split up and take the rest.'

'What about me?' Andy said. 'What should I do? Liaise with police headquarters? Set up retcon supplies and coordinate between each field team?'

'Er,' Ianto said, noticing for the first time that Andy was sporting matching slippers. 'Probably best you stay here and just keep an eye on things.'

Adelaide clapped Andy on the shoulder. 'Yeah, don't want the citizens of Cardiff being freaked out by you on top of everything else they've got to deal with. I'm suitably disturbed on their behalf.'

'Keep your comms open,' Ianto yelled after her as she slipped her gun into the back of her jeans and left.

'Yes, boss!' she called back.

'Well, I still think you're sexy,' Jack said, whispering the words in Andy's ear.

'Not the result I was going for, but thank you,' Andy said, watching as both he and Ianto coordinated themselves before also making to leave.

'He had spare clothes in his locker,' Jack said to Ianto as they slid into the SUV.

'I know, but I think maybe tonight wasn't the best time to test his A game out in the field.'

Jack laughed. 'You could be right about that.'

'Your choice of words probably didn't help.'

'Not my fault he's so literal.' Jack paused. 'Although, there was that one time remember? You and me in our onesies? You looked so cute in your cowprint.'

'That story is never to be repeated,' Ianto ordered. 'Torchwood operatives are hereby banned from saving the world in pajamas.'

'So, saving the world naked is still okay?'

Ianto gripped the steering wheel tight, determined not to let go and clip Jack around the ears. 'Can we please have this conversation later when the world isn't ending?'

'I'm only raising it for Andy's sake.'

'If Andy ever turns up to work naked, I'll fire him. And you.'

Poor Andy. Hoprfully he'll dress first next time.

Hasn't Jack already saved the world naked a few times? I'm sure he must have. Also, have you written the story about the boys in their onesies yet?
