Notes: Gwen is using her police skills to come up with alternatives.

'What are you doing?' Ianto asked as he watched Gwen working away industriously on her computer.

'Trying a different tact to try and hunt down that missing quantum converter unit,' she replied.

Ianto frowned. 'Isn't that more Tosh's thing?' he asked. They'd tried conventional methods for tracing its signal, but so far nothing had worked.

'I know,' she replied, 'but I thought maybe if we put a notice in the paper offering a small reward, someone might come forward. It's not like it's of any use to anyone but us. Money however...'

Ianto smiled. 'That's actually not a bad idea.'

You never discount any strategy until you've tried it. Sometimes old fashioned methods are effective.
