Notes: Kathy wished she knew what Torchwood's secret was.

Kathy tapped her boot in an annoyed way as she leaned back against her car, watching the blue lights from other vehicles light up the taped off crime scene. Like her, the rest of the police were idling outside the tape, rather than investigating the actual crime. Bloody Torchwood, she thought. She'd arrived too late, once again.

As she watched Jack and his team stride out from under the tape, laden with heavy cases, she stepped in front of him.

'How is it you always get here first, Harkness?'

Jack smiled. 'The trick is to have a really fancy computer.'
