Title: Stuck
Author: m_findlow
Characters: Owen, Ianto, Jack
Rating: PG
Challenge: 507 - Zip at [livejournal.com profile] tw100
Notes: Owen finds Ianto's relaxed attitude a little strange. A double drabble.

Owen’s footsteps echoed all the way along the corridor until he reached Ianto’s desk in the archives.

Ianto looked up at him, surprised to see him. 'Can I help you, Owen?'

'Yeah. Wanted to check out that flux lamp thingy. Thought it might help that sick plant I’ve got upstairs. You know, give it a bit of extra light.'

'Okay,' Ianto replied, tapping the keyboard. 'Just go get it and I’ll mark it as checked out to you.'

Owen raised both eyebrows. 'Seriously? Usually you don’t let me down there.' Ianto was such a stickler, the archives his domain.

'All part of my new policy to trust you more with borrowing things.' he replied.

'Ow!' came a muffled cry. Owen turned his head toward the sound and frowned. He looked at Ianto, whose face as a mask of vagary. It didn’t sound like Ianto at all. Very quickly, Owen put two and two together, remembering he hadn’t seen hide nor hair of Jack for ages.

'Did I just hear Jack under your desk?'

'Ianto, I think some of my hair got caught in your zip,' came Jack’s voice. 'Help me out here?'

'All part of your new policy?' Owen asked.

No, that part would be business as usual, Owen. Even you should know that, lol!

I love how calm Ianto is about the whole thing, too! It very much is business as usual, lol.

You're on a real reading binge fest atm! :)

Sorry for spamming your inbox, but I vowed to myself that I'd make time this year to catch up on all the fics I didn't have time to read last year. I still have a few hundred to get through and a good proportion of them are yours, but I'm getting to the longer ones so the number of comments each day will gradually go down. I think I've got through all the drabbles and double drabbles so I'm onto the anythingdrabble and slashthedrabble fills.

Lol, I'm a little way behind myself (okay, a lot behind!) but I'm also behind on posting too. Still maybe 50 fic_promptly ones I haven't done, which reminds me to cross-post my last tw fest piece. Also slowly working on getting them all onto AO3 (now that's a project and a half!)
Yikes!

Only 50? Wow, you're way faster at posting than me! I still have a backlog of over 400 from various communities and fests, because I'm not through editing a lot of them yet *headdesk* What gets posted to communities tends to be more of a rough draft because I'm so picky I won't post to my journal until I'm happy with what I've written. Stories often grow quite a lot in the editing stages.

I post to my journals and AO3 at the same time though, makes it easier to remember where I've got to.
