Summary: Jack should have expected his team's skills would be in demand. A double drabble.

Jack sighed, rubbing a hand over his face as he held the phone between his shoulder and his ear.

'I know he's doing a great job, Archie,' Jack replied. 'Why else do you think I sent him up there to help sort you out? Yes, yes, you don't have to remind me about how you used to do things at Torchwood House. But that was eighty years ago. Neither of us can keep doing things the same way we did back then. Ianto will set you up with all new technology to archive your stuff. The only thing I wanna know is when I can have him back.'

He listened to the garbled response on the other end of the phone. He loved Archie but he had a hard time staying on topic these days.

'A week or two?' Jack cried. He'd expected the task might take a couple of days at most. Ianto was nothing if not efficient. Then again, he hadn't considered the Archie factor. That was liable to slow him down. He only hoped Archie didn't waffle on too much about how he used to do things.

You've only got yourself to blame, Jack, he reminded himself.

Poor Jack, no Ianto to keep him warm at night and no amazing coffee to get him through the days; however will he cope?

He'll just have to make the sacrifice for the good of Torchwood as a whole. Archie's needs are bigger than this own.
