Notes: Jack doesn't always suceed in making friends with evereyone.

'That woman is a colossal pain in my arse!' Jack yelled. 'And I mean that in the bad way, not the "we had amazing sex for three days straight" way.'

'I should sincerely hope not,' Ianto quipped.

He didn't stick around to hear the rest. Jack's relationship with the mayor could be described as icy at best, though mostly it was a permanent state of nuclear winter. Jack thought she was interfering, putting people and politics first. She though Torchwood were a nuisance, and did more harm than good.

Both had their valid points, but they would never be friends.

Without Torchwood the mayor would have a real problem, or the city would've blown up by now. She needs them more than she could ever guess,

Jack can probably be a little bit narrow minded sometimes. There's definitely a balance that needs to be struck. It's lucky he has Ianto to smooth over his sometimes rough edges.
