Notes: Jack wants to thank Gwen for a tough assignment. A double drabble.

'Gwen!' Jack called out. 'Got a minute?'

She looked up from her computer and walked across to stand in his doorway.

'Close the door,' he said. She felt a flutter of nerves course through her. He indicated at the chair. 'Sit,' he said, before pulling out an envelope. 'This is for you.'

She tentatively opened it, frowning as she read the contents. 'Two tickets to Paris? Are we going there?'

Jack laughed. 'As much as I appreciate the offer, this is for you and Rhys. A little something special to thank you for that whole thing with the space whale.'

'Oh, well thank you.'

Jack leaned back in his chair. 'I know we haven't exactly seen eye to eye at times, and Rhys sticking his nose in where it doesn't belong wasn't exactly ideal.'

Gwen groaned. 'If you have any suggestions on how to stop him, please be my guest.'

Jack chuckled. 'All I'm saying is that we tend to keep people in the dark for a reason. But I also see that Rhys is someone special to you, and having to go home every day and lie to him can't be easy. So, this is me, saying it's okay.'

I did always wonder why Gwen and Rhys should be treated to a Paris vacation when the others never seemed to get a day off, never mind a holiday.

Maybe they got something else to compensate. I think we all know what Ianto got as thanks... ;)
