Notes: Tosh has an ambitious project afoot. A double drabble.

'Why haven't you gone home yet?' Jack asked, seeing Toshiko still perched in front of her computer, even though it was creeping towards one in the morning. 'I thought Ianto must have forgotten to switch the lights off before going to bed.'

'I just wanted to finish this before I left,' she replied.

Jack stood behind her, trying to fathom the complex stream of computer code. 'What is it?'

'Something for the hub's defences. A time lock that would enable us to isolate a section of space, in which time could be slowed down or sped up.'

Jack blew out a breath. 'That's an incredibly difficult thing to do, Tosh. Even where I'm from, that kind of technology is highly advanced.'

Tosh leaned back, pulling off her glasses and rubbing at tired eyes. 'I know. It's taken months to gather enough data from the rift machine to understand how it could even work. I'm relying on the rift machine to provide most of the capabilities, but the interface is obscenely tricky. I didn't want to mention it until I was a bit further along. No point getting everyone's hopes up.'

'Well, if anyone can figure out a way, it's you.'

She did what she set out to do, which in essence was designed to prevent lives from being lost. A resounding success.
