Summary: Daniel often has a visitor at night.

There were times at night when he was certain Sharé was right there next to him, sleeping peacefully, whispering in his ear. He didn't dare open his eyes in case he discovered that nine of this was real. A dream was better than nothing.

'When are you coming back, my Daniel?'

'Soon,' he promised.

A hand brushed over his forehead, brushing back his hair. 'I miss you.'

'I miss you, too. But the work I'm doing here is important.' He couldn't bring himself to say that the reason he was here was to stop Apophis and to steal back Amonet.
